Welcome to Cadence, a semi-realistic horse rpg! We hope your time here is full of fun, but to help ensure that, we need some rules. There may seem like a lot of them, but really it's probably just me clarifying things. :3

General//Out Of Character

• Swearing, sure, just don't over-use the right.
  
• Talk about subjects that often lead to fights, such as religion, sexuality, etc. Are prohibited from Cadence.
  
• We ask that your pictures in your signature are 500px (pixels) or less, because anything bigger stretches the board.
  
• Keep OOC conversations in the OOC boards and IC ones in the IC boards. Little OOC notes at the bottom of posts, however, is fine.
  
• When you do write OOC in an IC post, make sure to mark it "Ooc" or something of the like so people understand.
  
• No chatspeak. Even out of character, just, no. It's for IM's, people. I don't mind "brb", "g2g", or "ttyl". Things of that sort, but no, "Zomglykw0w, t43ph34r!"
  
• If you are going to be absent and know you are, please post in the absence board, especially if your stallion owns a land.

For Surprise/Disaster

• Surprise and Disaster happens once every real life month.
  
• There are two surprises, one disaster, and one disease.
  
• The two horses in Surprise will have good things happen to them. The horse in Disaster will have a completely random problem, and the horse in Disease will catch The Infection. Whether they live or not is up to you.
  
• Very rarely, a staff member might kill off a horse in Disaster. This is VERY rare, and usually targets inactive horses. If you have a problem, PM myself or another admin.
  
• Surprise/Disaster is for fun, and to encourage plots amongst the members. If for whatever reason, you aren't happy with it, please PM a staff member. But please, also be reasonable. I really only want to see Surprise/Disaster issues with possible deaths. Anything else, I'm sure, won't be as bad.

General//In Character

• You may have as a many characters as you can keep active.
  
• Cadence has a 500 word minimum to posts. Claiming posts are 600.
  
• IC swearing, like OOC swearing, is fine.

For the Guys

• Stallions may claim ONE land.
  
• Stallions may claim as many mares or other stallions as they like.
  
• Stallions may challenge other stallions for land, if they themselves do not already own one.
  
• Stallions may breed with any one of their mares
  
• Stallions may kill their own foals, but only with consent of the mother's player.

For the Ladies

• Mares may not claim land.
  
• Mares may claim abandoned foals.
  
• A mare always has the right to turn down a claimer, there is no "force claiming".
  
• Mares may be force bred.
  
• Mares may challenge any other mare in their herd's hierarchy for a position, unless the lead stallion says otherwise.
  
• Mares may breed as many times as they like, though please, keep it realistic.
  
• Mares may kill/abandoned foals.

For the Fights

• Fights are ALWAYS one x one on Cadence.
  
• Stallions may fight other stallions, mares can fight other mares, or a mare can fight a stallion.
  
• There is no gender difference when it comes to strength. If there is a stallion x mare fight, Staff will judge it completely on the roleplayer's skill, character's depth, and realism.
  
• Fights may have as many attacks and dodges as specified by the challenger, but the defender MUST agree before going to battle.
  
• A defender has SEVEN days to reply to a challenge before the Challenger wins by proxy.
  
• Horses may fight to the death, but the player who plays the decedant must agree beforehand.

For the Babies

• Breeding occurs ONLY in the specified area.
  
• There is NO graphic/long breeding permitted on Cadence. Simply saying "David x Sue" or "David and Sue have bred" is all you need to do.
  
• Seasons change weekly. The Breeding seasons are Summer and Winter, the Foaling seasons are Spring and Autumn.
  
• There is no long/graphic foaling, either. To foal, simply post the form located in the foaling board and staff will give you your foal.
  
• Breeding out of season/foaling out of season/failing to use the correct form will result in stillborns.
  
• Staff have the right to give out deformities. Don't complain - we're fair. Not every foal will have a deformity, but not every one won't, either.
  
• The code for the Joining board is the thirteenth word in the Game && Chat board description. It starts with a P and ends with an N.
  
• Foaling takes place ONLY in the designated board.

For Aging and Death

• One week equals a season, one month equals a year. I don't mind if you age your horses slower, faster, whatever. Just make sure that they DO age at some point.
  
• Horses can die of Surprise/Disaster, This occurance is VERY rare, however, and will likely only target inactive horses. If you have a problem with that horse dying, please PM myself or another co-admin and we'll work something out.
  
• Horses die at the Cemetery. This can work IC or OOC, depending on whatever you want to do.
